El Médano Beach

There are several natural sandy beaches, this one by the town square being the most sheltered.

Two more of the beaches attract windsurfers from all over the world and two more are completely undeveloped.

All year El Médano is warm and sunny with few cloudy days, and very little rainfall. A brisk wind generally keeps the temperature very pleasant.

Along the sea front and around the town square there are numerous small shops, restaurants and bars.

The countryside is generally arid, but in the developed areas plants and trees grow in profusion and the golf courses are kept very green, all irrigated by Tenerife's plentiful water supply from the mountain.
